What is a State Rally?
A H.O.G. State Rally is organised by the chapters of a given state for the benefit of H.O.G. members.
How often is a State Rally held?
The Victorian State Rally has alwasy been held every year. Some other states also have yearly rallies (eg. NSW) and others may have rallies in alternating years or randomly.
Who sponsors a State Rally?
State Rallies are organised by one or more local chapters, with the local dealership/s often being involved also.
Can 'anyone' attend a State Rally?
State Rallies are generally available only to H.O.G. members and their partners.
Can I ride and attend a State Rally independently?
Sure you can, but it's more fun in a group - OzHOG Melbourne Chapter try to stay together where we can to maximise the fun.
What is the cost?
The cost of a rally depends on the facilities, meals, camping, free stuff (tshirts, patches, stickers, pins). There is no standard cost.
Is accommodation, meals etc included?
All rallies are different. Some include one or more meals in the price. Usually camping is provided as an option with registration, however you will need to bring your own tent.
How long should I book off work to travel and attend?
Calculate how long it will take you to get to the rally and home again. There are often chapter led rides to and from rallies with a published timetable well before the event.
Do club rules apply while on tour?
If you are riding up and back as part of a group, club rules do apply. Any time you are wearing your chapter vest, you are representing our chapter and must abide by the code of conduct.
What's recommended to have in place while on a State Rally?
Always check your bike before you head away on a long trip. If you're not sure what to check, the guys at Harley-Heaven will be glad to help you out. Some kind of roadside assistance is also recommended as nothing spoils a trip away like a punctured tyre or running out of fuel!
